The pranayama technique Kapalabhati is often referred to as „shining skull“.
It is a very powerful breath work exercise. As with all the yogic breathing techniques, it is advised to practice after bowel movement and four hours after eating.
Kapalabhati is one of the six Shat Kriyas, cleansing Kriyas in Yoga.

Contraindications:
You shouldn‘t practice Kapalabhati with recent injuries, during pregnancy, when feeling tense, in pain, with a depression or emotionally very unstable. Pay close attention to what Kapalabhati does to your nervous system and your emotions. If you over do it, you can feel it quite strongly. Be gentle with yourself and take it easy. One step at a time.
