In yoga, three power centers of the body are defined, the bandhas. The word bandha means closure or seal. Mula Bandha stands for the root closure, the pelvic floor contraction. This is so important for all of us regardless of age or gender because root closure allows us to keep energy with us.

  • Generating and retaining energy, calming the mind and nervous system, keeping energy in the lower torso, back and closing the root chakra (energy center).
  • Daily practice

Hatha Yoga is the body oriented part of yoga. Ha=Sun, Tha=Moon, Yoga=Unity/Harmony. So Hatha Yoga is the harmonization of the two basic energies in our system, the activating, warming and the uplifting, cooling energy. Hatha Yoga says that the body is the temple of the soul and should be cared for as such, but without considering it the most important thing. Yoga therefore addresses both the physical and the energetic body.
